Big Swamp Interpretive Loop Walk 2017
This discovery trail project is a partnership between Bunbury Cathedral Grammar Primary School and Friends of Big Swamp. Thanks to the City of Bunbury and the Habitat Bunbury grant program, this project entails the design and installation of permanent signs for a self-guided education interpretive loop walk at the Big Swamp. Supporting materials such as a trail map, introductory information for schools, local families and visitors and website links to more detailed education materials will also be produced. The aims of the project are to create learning opportunities for school students around the district, raise awareness of the environmental values of Big Swamp, promote care-taking of the wetland by the community and local volunteers, and to provide an informative nature-based activity for visitors. The project is being prepared by a group of Year 5 and 6 primary school students at Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School, with support and assistance by FOBS volunteers. The City of Bunbury will support the production and installation of the permanent signs and will host website information linked from the trail. |
